Biking Denmark (continued)The next morning we headed further southwest toward Kalundborg where that afternoon we boarded a ferry to take us to Århus, a 4-hour trip from Zealand to Jutland. In Århus, we had no trouble finding a hotel with a restaurant and a back courtyard to store our bikes. |
|
The morning leaving Århus was a bit of a struggle as we climbed a long hill that seemed to go on forever. Once up from the water front we had spitting rain as we travelled north thru Randers on our way to Ålborg to visit the Emigration Archive, the results of which were told above. We decided to take the rest of the day off from biking and instead took the train to Skagen, the northern most point in Danmark. |

The next day we biked west and then south with head winds all the way. We went through Aar and Viborg, experiencing a few more flat tires along the way causing us to buy a couple new tires for my son’s bike. We stayed over night in Silkeborg visiting the museum with the 2000 years old ‘bog man’. |
